  • Services not calling at Stockport

    Routes:

    What is happening?

    Until 1245hrs, services will be diverted via Styal and Wilmslow, not calling at Stockport.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will be in operation.

    Advice:

    Please allow an extra 30 minutes approximately, for your journey.

  • Route improvments between Glasgow Central and Carstairs

    Routes:

    What is happening?

    All services from Glasgow Central to Birmingham New Street / London Euston will depart earlier than booked, regaining booked time from Carstairs.

    What is happening?

    Both the 2230 and 2330 (Monday to Thursday only) London Euston to Wolverhampton services and the 0500 (Tuesday to Friday only) Wolverhampton to London Euston service, will be diverted en route between Birmingham New St. and Wolverhampton via Aston and Bescot.

    What is happening?

    The 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton.

    Alternative route:

    A connecting Rail Replacement Coach will depart from Rugby.

  • Route improvements between Liverpool Lime St. and Runcorn

    Routes:

    • London - Stafford - Liverpool
    • North Wales - London & The West Midlands

    Date: Sunday 30 May

    What is happening?

    Routine maintenance on the overhead wires between Runcorn and Liverpool Lime St. will be taking place.

    Alternative route:

    The following rail shuttle services will be in operation;
    Liverpool Lime St. to Crewe
    Runcorn to Rugby.

    These shuttles will operate one service in each direction every two hours.

    Services on the North Wales route will operate between Crewe and Holyhead only, with services on the London to Chester route withdrawn

    The service pattern will be thinned out until midday, due to limited availability between Rugby and Nuneaton.

    Alternative route:

    Nuneaton will become an additional stop on most services, connecting into the West Coast Replacement Shuttle.

    Services to / from London Euston will start / terminate at Rugby.

    Alternative route:

    The West Coast Replacement Shuttle service will be in operation today between London Euston, Coventry and Nuneaton via the Chilterns.
    Please note, some West Coast Replacement Shuttle services will start / terminate at either Birmingham New St. or Crewe, and one service in each direction will serve Stoke-on-Trent, Lichfield TV and Tamworth.

    Please allow an extra 120 minutes approximately, for your journey.

  • Route improvements between Stafford and Crewe

  • Route improvements between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central

    What is happening?

    Reduced service pattern to / from London Euston, with increased journey times between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central.

  • Late night service not calling at Coventry or Birmingham International.

    Date: From Monday 24 May until Thursday 27 May

    What is happening?

    The 23.30 London Euston to Wolverhampton service will be diverted via Nuneaton and Stafford to Wolverhampton, not calling at Coventry or Birmingham International. With the diversion via Stafford the calling pattern will change to Wolverhampton then Birmingham New Street, via Dudley Port.

    Alternative route:

    Passengers should change at Rugby for a connecting Rail Replacement Coach, calling at Coventry and Birmingham International only.

    Advice:

    Please allow an extra 30 minutes approximately (Coventry / Birmingham International) for your journey.
    Please allow an extra 60 minutes approximately (Birrmingham New St) for your journey

    Rail Replacement Coaches will operate in both directions between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh Waverley.

    Advice:

    Divertions via Dumfries add 75 minutes approximately, to overall journey times.

    Most London Euston to Glasgow Central services will start / terminate at Carlisle, the remaining services and services on the Birmingham New Street to Edinburgh Waverley / Glasgow Central routes will be diverted via Dumfries.

    Rail Replacement Coaches will operate in both directions between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh Waverley.

    Advice:

    Divertions via Dumfries add 75 minutes approximately, to overall journey times.

  • Route improvements between Birmingham New St. and Wolverhampton

    What is happening?

    The 22.45 Wolverhampton to London Euston service, will be diverted en route not calling at Northampton.

    A rail replacement coach for Northampton, will depart from Rugby.

    Services will be limited to two per hour in each direction, one Liverpool and one Anglo Scot via Alsager.
    Manchester Piccadilly services will operate via Stoke-on-Trent.
    Services on the North Wales route will operate between Crewe and Holyhead via Middlewich.

    Rail Replacement Coach services will operate to / from Rugby, calling at Coventry and Birmingham International only.

    Until midday, please allow an extra 90 minutes approxiamtely for your journey.

  • Major route improvements between Wembley and Wolverton

    There will be limited access to / from London Euston, with services revised and thinned out were possible, with extended journey times.
    Services on the North Wales route will operate between Crewe and Holyhead only.

  • Major route improvements between Oxenholme and Lockerbie

    The following will apply to Anglo Scottish services.

    London Euston to Glasgow Central services will terminate at Preston.
    Glasgow Central to London Euston services will start from Oxenholme.
    Birmingham New Street to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh Waverley will terminate at Oxenholme.
    Edinburgh Waverley / Glasgow Central will start from Preston.

    Alternative route:

    Rail Replacement Coaches will operate in both directions between;

    Oxenholme to Carlisle.
    Carlisle to Glasgow Central.
    Carlisle to Edinburgh Waverley.

From 1330hrs onwards, services from London Euston will terminate at Carlisle; services from Birmingham New Street will be diverted via Dumfries, extending overall journey times by up to 75 minutes approximately. Passengers travelling on services from London Euston should change at Carlisle, onto the Birmingham New Street to Glasgow Central services. Glasgow Central to London Euston services and some Glasgow Central to Birmingham New Street services will depart up to 75 minutes earlier than booked and be diverted via Dumfries. The remaining Glasgow Central to Birmingham New Street services will start from Carlisle.

    Alternative route:

    A Rail Replacement Coach will operate in both directions between Carlisle and Edinburgh Waverley.

    Additional service;
    1825 Glasgow Central to Crewe – calling at Carlisle, Penrith, Oxenholme, Lancaster, Preston, Warrington Bank Quay and Crewe.

    What is happening?

    The 1020 Birmingham New Street to Carlisle service is extended to Glasgow Central.
    The 1145 Glasgow Central to Birmingham New Street service, will start back from Edinburgh Waverley.
    The 1317 Preston to Birmingham New Street service is cancelled.

    Alternative route:

    Additional service at 1025 Edinburgh Waverley to Birmingham New Street via Motherwell.

    The 1046, 1146, 1249, 1354 and 1448 Carlisle to London Euston services, will start back from Glasgow Central.
    The 1045 and 1245 Glasgow Central to Birmingham New Street services will depart later than booked.

    Edinburgh Waverley to Birmingham New Street services will depart up to 40 minutes earlier. Birmingham New Street to Edinburgh Waverley services will be diverted via Motherwell, with extended journey times.

  • Late evening Anglo Scottish services extended

    Both the 1730 and 1830 London Euston to Carlisle services are extended to Glasgow Central.

    Rail Replacement Coaches will operate in both directions between, Oxenholme and Carlisle, Carlisle to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh Waverley.

    What is happening?

    The West Coast Replacement Shuttle will operate hourly in both directions, between London Euston and Nuneaton via the Chiltern route calling at Coventry. All other services to / from London Euston will start / terminate at Rugby apart from a shuttle service starting from midday onwards, operating between London Euston, Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central only. Services on the London Euston to North Wales route will start / terminate at Crewe, the London Euston to Chester services are withdrawn in both directions.

    Alternative route:

    From midday onwards, Rail Replacement Coaches will operate in both directions between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby.

    Advice:

    The West Coast Replacement Shuttle service, will increase overall journey times by approximately 60 minutes.

  • No services into / out of Manchester Piccadilly

    All services to / from London Euston will operate via Northampton, with a slight increase in journey times.
