    Both the 2230 and 2330 London Euston to Wolverhampton services, will be diverted via Northampton, running later from Rugby.

    Services on the North Wales route, will operate between Crewe and Holyhead.

    Alternative route:

    London Midland will be operating rail replacement coaches calling at local stations between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

  • Between Preston, Lancaster and Oxenholme

    Routes:

    • London - The North West - Glasgow
    • Birmingham - The North West & Scotland

    Date: Monday 27 May

    What is happening?

    Until 1300, services on the London Euston to Glasgow Central route, will operate in both directions between Oxenholme and Glasgow Central.

    The first through services will depart at:

    1109 London Euston to Glasgow Central
    1140 Glasgow Central to London Euston
    1258 Preston to London Euston


    Until 1300, services on the Birmingham New Street to Scotland routes, will opertate an hourly service in both directions between Birmingham New Street and Preston, not calling at Wolverhampton.

    After 1300 all London Euston / Birmingham New Street to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh Waverley services revert back to the normal timetable, with the exception of services will not be calling at Wolverhampton.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will be in operation until late morming, last departures will bne at:

    Preston - Lancaster - Oxenholme until 1115
    Preston - Oxenholme until 1130
    Oxenholme - Preston until 1140
    Lancaster - Preston until 1040

    Carlisle - Lockerbie - Edinburgh Waverley until 1200
    Edinburgh Waverley - Lockerbie - Carlisle until 0745

    Wolverhampton - Stafford.

    Services on the London Euston to Glasgow Central route, will operate in both directions between Oxenholme and Glasgow Central. Passengers wishing to travel stations Preston and North of, are advised to travel to Crewe and change onto a Birmingham New Street to Preston service.

    The Birmingham New Street to Scotland routes, will opertate an hourly service in both directions between Birmingham New Street and Preston, not calling at Wolverhampton, they will be diverted en route via Chester.

    There will be a two hourly services between Carlisle and Edinburgh Waverley in both directions.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will operate between:

    Preston - Lancaster - Oxenholme.

    Some late evening services on the London Euston to Wolverhampton route, will start from / terminate at Birmingham New Street, this also includes some early morning services from Wolverhampton. .

  • Between Crewe, Runcorn and Liverpool Lime Street

    From 11.00 onwards, services on the London Euston to LIverpool LIme St. route will start / terminate at Crewe.

    The last through services will depart at:

    0907 from London Euston
    0948 from Liverpool LIme Street

    Services on the North Wales route, will operate between Crewe and Holyhead.

    Rail replacement coaches will operate between:

  • Line closed between Warrington Bank Quay and Preston

    Routes:

    • London - Manchester
    • London - The North West - Glasgow
    • Birmingham - The North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 13 July until Friday 19 July

    What is happening?

    The line between Warrington Bank Quay, Wigan North Western and Preston will be closed to all trains from Saturday 13 until Sunday 21 July inclusive. Rail replacement coaches will be in operation between the three stations.

    This is to allow Network Rail to upgrade four major junctions between the three stations. This upgrade will improve efficiency and increase the speed that trains can travel between the stations.

    London Euston to Glasgow Central services will operate between London Euston and Warrington Bank Quay in the south and between Preston and Glasgow Central in the north.

    The Birmingham to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh service will operate between Birmingham New Street and Preston via Manchester.

    Alternative route:

    Customers travelling between London Euston and Scotland are advised to use the London Euston to Warrington Bank Quay service, changing at Crewe for the Birmingham New Street to Preston service (diverted via Manchester) for onward connections to Scotland. (Change also at Carlisle for Edinburgh)

    Customers travelling between Glasgow Central and London Euston are advised to change at Preston (from Edinburgh, change also at Carlisle) for the Preston to Birmingham New Street service as far as Stockport, changing to a Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston service.
