    What is happening?

    Improvements to Britain’s railway’ will be taking place in the following areas:


    Wolverhampton to Crewe - All day Monday 31 August.


    London Euston to Wembley Central - Until midday on Monday 31 August


    Watford Junction to Cheddington - Until midday on Monday 31 August.


    Milton Keynes Central to Northampton - Until midday on Monday 31 August. 

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will be in operation between:


    Wolverhampton - Stafford - Stoke-on-Trent


    Wolverhampton - Stafford - Crewe

    Advice:


    • Before midday all services will be routed via Northampton.

    • All services on the North Wales route will operate between Crewe and Chester / Holyhead.

    • No services will operate to Stafford.


    London Euston to/from Birmingham New Street / Wolverhampton


    Before Midday -        Reduced service, two trains per hour in each direction. One service to / from Birmingham New Street, one service to / from Wolverhampton.


    After Midday -           Normal service, three trains per hour in each direction.


    22:45 Wolverhampton to London Euston, will not call at Northampton. A connecting rail replacement coach will start from Rugby.


    18:23 London Euston to Shrewsbury will operate. All other services to / from Shrewsbury are cancelled.


    London Euston to / from Manchester Piccadilly


    Two trains per hour in each direction, via Macclesfield.


    London Euston to / from Liverpool Lime Street and Glasgow Central (direct route)


    All services will be diverted via Stoke-on-Trent and Alsager, calling at Crewe.


    This is because of the route improvement project taking place between Wolverhampton, Stafford and Crewe.


    London Euston to / from Glasgow Central and Edinburgh (via the West Midlands)


    Trains will operate between Crewe and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh.


    This is because of two route improvement projects taking place between Birmingham New Street and Crewe.


    Passengers with valid tickets can use the following rail replacement coach services:



    • Wolverhampton – Stafford – Stoke-on-Trent

    • Wolverhampton – Stafford - Crewe

    Rail replacement coaches will be in operation for passengers wishing to travel between Birmingham New Street – Sandwell & Dudley – Wolverhampton.


    London Euston to / from Manchester Piccadilly


    Two trains per hour in each direction, via Macclesfield.


    London Euston to / from Liverpool Lime Street and Glasgow Central (direct route)
