    What is happening?

    The 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton

    Alternative route:

    A rail replacement coach will depart from Rugby, calling at Long Buckby and Northampton only.

  • 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    What is happening?

    The 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton

    What is happening?

    The 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton

  • Rail replacement - Spring Bank Holiday

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 24 May until Sunday 25 May

    What is happening?

    Over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, there will be various route improvement projects, taking place. As a result train services will be replaced by road transfer, as detailed below.   

    Alternative route:

    The route improvements between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street, are not due to start until 11.00 on Saturday.


    Some services from Carlisle to Glasgow Central, will be diverted via Dumfries. 

    Advice:

    Rail replacement coaches will operate in both directions between:


    Birmingham New Street - Sandwell & Dudley - Wolverhampton.


    Crewe - Runcorn - Liverpool Lime Street.


    Carlisle - Lockerbie - Motherwell - Glasgow Central.


    Carlisle - Lockerbie - Haymarket - Edinburgh.

  • May Day Bank Holiday

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: Monday 05 May

    What is happening?

    Due to a major engineering project, the line between London Euston and Hemel Hempstead, will be closed to Virgin Trains services, until 11.00.

    From 11.00 onwards, a revised timetable will be in operation. The main change being services on both the London Euston to West MIdlands and London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly routes, will be reduced to two services per hour in each direction.

  • Milton Keynes Central to Rugby local diversion

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester

    Date: From Monday 19 May until Thursday 22 May

    What is happening?

    The following services will be diverted via Northampton, running later from Rugby:

    2145 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    2230 London Euston to Wolverhampton
    2250 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly
    2330 London Euston to Wolverhampton

  • 0500 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton

    Date: From Tuesday 20 May until Friday 23 May

    What is happening?

    The 05.00 Wolverhampton to London Euston service, will start from Birmingham New Street at booked time.

    Alternative route:

    Passengers are advised to use the 05.24 Wolverhampton to London Euston service.

    Passengers for Rugby, should also use the 05.24 service, changing at Coventry for a London Midland service.

  • Crewe to Chester diversions

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales

    Date: From Monday 12 May until Friday 16 May

    What is happening?

    Services starting from Holyhead or Chester, will depart earlier than booked and be diverted via Middlewich and Sandbach, departing from Crewe at booked time.

    Services from London Euston will run as booked to Crewe, then be diverted via Sandbach and Middlewich, running later from Chester.

    The 2010 London Euston to Chester service, will terminate at Crewe for a rail replacement coach transfer.

    The 0700 Wrexham to Chester and 0710 London Euston to Chester services will be cancelled.

  • 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton

    Date: Monday 12 May

    What is happening?

    The 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton

    Alternative route:

    A rail replacement coach will depart from Rugby, calling at Long Buckby and Northampton only.

    Advice:

    Please allow an extra 40 minutes approximately, for your journey.

  • 2031 London Euston to Preston

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: Saturday 10 May

    What is happening?

    The 2031 London Euston to Preston service, will terminate at Crewe.

    Alternative route:

    The following rail replacement coaches have be booked:

    1) Warrington Bank Quay 2255, Wigan North Western 2335, Preston 0020.
    2) Crewe 2245, Preston 0010
    3) Crewe 2245, Warrington Bank Quay 2335, Wigan North Western 0015.

  • Carlisle to Dumfries

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 03 May until Sunday 04 May

    What is happening?

    The line between Carlisle and Dumfries, will be closed all weekend, for route improvement work.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will operate in both directions between:


    Carlisle - Glasgow Central


    Carlisle - Lockerbie - Glasgow Central.


    Carlisle - Lockerbie - Ediburgh

  • Oxenholme to Carlisle

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 03 May until Sunday 04 May

    What is happening?

    The line between Oxenholme and Carlisle, will be closed all weekend, for route improvement work.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will operate in both directions between:

    Lancaster - Oxenholme Lake District - Penrith North Lakes - Carlisle.

  • Warrington Bank Quay to Wigan North Western

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 03 May until Sunday 04 May

    What is happening?

    The line between Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan North Western, will be closed from 11.00 on Saturday and all day Sunday, for route improvement work.

    Train services from North of / South of this area, will be diverted en route, via Manchester Piccadilly.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will operate in both directions between:

    Warrington Bank Quay - Wigan North Western - Preston

  • No service between London Euston and Northampton

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: Sunday 04 May

    What is happening?

    Due to a major engineering project, the line between London Euston and Hemel Hempstead, will be closed to Virgin Trains services, all weekend.

    Further engineering work will be taking place between Milton Keynes Central and Northampton, until midday

    Our services will start from / terminate at Rugby, all day.

    Alternative route:

    Passengers are advised to utilise other train operators services, where possible.

    The line between Liverpool LIme Street and Runcorn, will be closed all day Sunday.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will operate in both directions between:

    Liverpool LIme Street - Runcorn

  • No service between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 03 May until Sunday 04 May

    What is happening?

    Due to a major engineering project, the line between London Euston and Hemel Hempstead, will be closed to Virgin Trains services, all weekend.

    Most of our services will start from / terminate at Milton Keynes Central, with the exception of a few. These will start from / terminate at either Rugby, Nuneaton or Crewe

  • 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    What is happening?

    The 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton

    A rail replacement coach will depart from Rugby, calling at Long Buckby and Northampton only.

  • Macclesfield services replaced by rail repalcement coaches.

    Routes:

    • London - Liverpool & Manchester

    Date: Sunday 27 April

    What is happening?

    Until midday, services on the London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly route, will not be able to call at Macclesfield.

    Rail repalcement will operate in both directions between:
    Wilmslow - Macclesfield

    Alternative route:

    The 0820, 0920, 1035, 1115 and 1135 Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston services, will depart earlier than booked. They will be divered from Stockport via Wilmslow, Crewe and Alsager, departing from Stoke-on-Trent at booked time.

    The 0820 and 0920 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly services, will run as booked to Kidsgrove and then be diverted via Alsager, Crewe and Wilmslow to Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly

  • Rail replacement Stoke-on-Trent to Stockport area

    Routes:

    • London - Liverpool & Manchester

    Date: From Monday 21 April until Thursday 24 April

    What is happening?

    Both the 21.40 and 22.50 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly services, will be diverted via Stafford, Crewe and Wilmslow to Manchester Piccadilly.

    The 22.50 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly service, will also be diverted via Style, so not calling at Stockport.

    Alternative route:

    Rail replacement coaches will in operation calling at:

    Stafford - Stoke-on-Trent - Macclesfield - Stockport - Manchester Piccadilly.

  • 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton

    Date: From Monday 21 April until Thursday 24 April

    What is happening?

    The 2245 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton

    Alternative route:

    A rail replacement coach will depart from Rugby, calling at Long Buckby and Northampton only.

  • 2030 London Euston to Preston

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: Friday 02 May

    What is happening?

    The 2030 London Euston to Preston service, will be extended to Glasgow Central.

    Calling additionally at: Lancaster, Oxenholme Lake District, Penrith North Lakes, Carlisle and Glasgow Central.

  • Route improvements between Crewe - Stafford - Nuneaton

    Routes:

    • London - Liverpool & Manchester

    Date: From Saturday 19 April until Sunday 20 April

    What is happening?

    On Saturday only, rail replacement coaches will operate in both direction between Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford. Some late evening replacement services will be extended to Macclesfield, Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly.

    On Sunday only, rail replacement coaches will operate in both directions between Stockport - Macclesfield - Stoke-on-Trent - Stafford.

  • Route improvements between Carlisle and Carstairs

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 19 April until Sunday 20 April

    What is happening?

    With additional route improvements between Annan and Dumfries, we are unable to divert services via Dumfries to / from Glasgow Central.

    Alternative route:

    On Saturday only, services north of Carlisle on the Glasgow Central and Edinburgh routes, will be replaced by rail replacement coaches.

    On Sunday only, services north of Penrith on the Glasgow Central and Edinburgh routes, will be replaced by rail replacement coaches.

  • Milton Keynes Central to Rugby local diversion

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton

    Date: Saturday 14 June

    What is happening?

    The last services in each direction, on the London Euston to Wolverhampton route, will be diverted via Northampton.

    Alternative route:

    The 2107 Wolverhampton to London Euston – As booked to Rugby, diverted via Northampton and runs later from Milton Keynes Central into London Euston.


    The 2143 London Euston to Wolverhampton – As booked to Milton Keynes Central, diverted via Northampton and runs later from Rugby.

  • 2300 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly

    Routes:

    • London - Liverpool & Manchester

    Date: From Monday 02 June until Thursday 05 June

    What is happening?

    The 2300 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly service, will be diverted en route, not calling at Macclesfield or Stockport.

    Alternative route:

    A connecting rail replacement coach will depart from Stoke-on-Trent, calling at Macclesfield and Stockport only.

  • Boxing Day

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: Friday 26 December

    What is happening?

    There will be no services, operating on the Virgin Trains network today.
