  • Lancaster to Oxenholme Lake District blocked

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: Sunday 05 April

    What is happening?

    Route improvement work will be taking place between Lancaster and Oxenholme Lake District from 10:30 Hours until 23:00 Hours.

    Alternative route:

    Train services to be retimed or cancelled. Rail replacement road service to operate (tba).   

  • Crewe to Warrington Bank Quay blocked

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 04 April until Monday 06 April

    What is happening?

    Route improvement work will be taking place between Crewe and Warrington Bank Quay from 13:00 Hours on Saturday until 05:00 Hours on Monday 06 April.

    Alternative route:

    Train services on the Scottish routes to be diverted via Cheadle Hulme and Manchester Piccadilly.


    Rail replacement road service to operate (tba).

  • Route improvements between Northampton and Rugby

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 04 April until Monday 06 April

    What is happening?

    Route improvement work will be taking place between:


    Northamtpton and Rugby from 23:05 Hours on Saturday until 22:05 Hours on Sunday 5 February.


    Hemel Hempstead and Wolverton from 20:10 Hours on Saturday until 03:00 Hours on Monday 6 April.

    Alternative route:

    All trains services to be retimed and travel via Northampton.

  • Anglo - Scottish services diverted via Dumfries

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 04 April until Tuesday 07 April

    What is happening?

    Route improvement work will be taking place between Gretna and Lockerbie from 08:00 Hours on Saturday until 06:00 Hours on Tuesday 07 April.

    Alternative route:

    London Euston / Birmingham New Street to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh  services to be diverted via Dumfries, or start / terminate at Carlisle.

  • Easter - London Euston to Watford Junction blocked

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 04 April until Monday 06 April

    What is happening?

    On Saturday and Sunday only, most services will start from / terminate at either Milton Keynes Central / Rugby. Some services will call additionally at stations en route.


    On Monday 6 April, until 16:30 Hours, there will be a reduced service into / out of London Euston.

  • Good Friday - Amended Service

    Routes:

    What is happening?

    Most services will start from / terminate at either Milton Keynes Central / Rugby. Some services will call additionally at stations en route. 


    We will be operating an hourly service in both directions, between Watford Junction and North Wales.

  • 05:00 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    Routes:

    What is happening?

    The 05:00 Wolverhampton to London Euston service, will depart earlier than booked and be diverted via Bescot Stadium.


    This service will depart from Birmingham New Street at booked time.  

  • 22:45 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury

    Date: From Monday 30 March until Thursday 02 April

    What is happening?

    The 22:45 Wolverhampton to London Euston - Will not call at Northampton.

  • 05:25 Blackpool North to Crewe

    Routes:

    Date: From Tuesday 24 March until Friday 27 March

    What is happening?

    The 05:25 Blackpool North to Crewe service, will start from Preston at booked time.

    Alternative route:

    Passengers from Blackpool North, Poulton-le-Fylde and Kirkham & Wesham, are advised to use Northern Rails 05:11 Blackpool North to York service, which will call additionally at Kirkham & Wesham. 

  • 23:00 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly

    Routes:

    • London - Liverpool & Manchester

    Date: From Monday 23 March until Thursday 26 March

    What is happening?

    The 23:00 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly service, will be diverted via Alsager and Crewe, not calling at Macclesfield or Stockport.

    Alternative route:

    A rail replacement coach will depart from Stoke-on-Trent, calling at Macclesfield and Stockport only.

  • Route improvements between Runcorn and Liverpool LIme Street

    Routes:

    • London - Liverpool & Manchester

    Date: Sunday 22 February

    What is happening?

    Due to route improvemenmt work between Watford Junction and London Euston, services will start and terminate at Rugby, calling additionally at Nuneaton.


    Train services will be diverted to / from Crewe via Warrington Bank Quay, Earlestown and Huyton, not calling at Runcorn.

    Alternative route:

    A rail replacement service will operate between Crewe and Runcorn, Runcorn and Liverpool Lime Street, details to be confirmed.

  • Preston to Lancaster

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 21 February until Sunday 22 February

    What is happening?

    The line between Preston and Lancaster, will be closed from midday on Saturday until 16:00hrs on Sunday.


    During these times, train services will operate in both directions between Milton Keynes Central / Rugby and Preston, and between Lancaster and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh.

    Alternative route:

    A rail replacement service will operate between Preston and Lancaster, details to follow.

  • London Euston to Watford Junction

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: Monday 23 February

    What is happening?

    Until 16:30hrs, a revised timetable will operate, due to the route improvement work, that took place over the previous weekend.

  • London Euston to Watford Junction

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury
    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales
    • London - Liverpool & Manchester
    • London & West Midlands - North West & Scotland

    Date: From Saturday 21 February until Sunday 22 February

    What is happening?

    As part of Network Rail’s £81m major improvement scheme on the West Coast Main Line at Watford Junction there will be the following changes to our timetable.


    Most of our services will start from / terminate at either Milton Keynes Central or Rugby, with the exception of an hourly service between London Euston, Coventry and Birmingham International, via High Wycombe and Leamington Spa on the Chiltern route.

    Alternative route:

    COVENTRY and BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL to/from LONDON EUSTON: One service per hour in each direction via the Chiltern route.


    WEST MIDLANDS: One service per hour between the Rugby and the West Midlands


    MANCHESTER: Two services per hour, one between Manchester and Milton Keynes (diverted via the West Midlands) and one between Manchester and Rugby in each direction


    NORTH WALES: Services to Holyhead will start from/terminate at Crewe


    LIVERPOOL: Services will start from/ terminate at Rugby, calling additionally at Nuneaton


    NORTH and SCOTLAND: Services will start from/ terminate at Rugby, calling additionally at Nuneaton

    Advice:

    Passengers are advised to use alternative routes where possible, or use our service from London Euston, diverted via the Chiltern route to the West Midlands, to connect into / out of our services.

    The 23:00 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly service, will be diverted from Stoke-on-Trent via Alsager, not calling at Macclesfield or Stockport.

  • Route improvements between Chester and Flint

    Routes:

    • London & West Midlands - Chester & North Wales

    Date: Sunday 08 February

    What is happening?

    Until 16:40hrs, services on the North Wales route from Holyhead to London Euston, will start from Chester, at booked time. 


    The 10:42 Crewe to Holyhead service, will terminate at Chester.

    Alternative route:

    Services between Chester and Flint, will be replaced by  rail replacement coaches. Details to follow.

  • 22:37 Wolverhampton to London Euston

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury

    Date: Sunday 01 February

    What is happening?

    The 22:37 Wolverhampton to London Euston service will be diverted en route, not calling at Northampton.

    Alternative route:

    A rail replacement coach will depart from Rugby 23:45, calling at Long Buckby 00:10, and Northampton 00:35 only.

    Alternative route:

    Passengers are advised to use the 05.24 Wolverhampton to London Euston service.


    Passengers for Rugby, should also use the 05.24 service, changing at Coventry for a London Midland service.

  • 22.30 and 23.30 London Euston to Wolverhampton

    Routes:

    • London - Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury

    Date: From Monday 26 January until Friday 30 January

    What is happening?

    Both the 22:30 and 23:30 London Euston to Wolverhampton services, will terminate at Birmingham New Street.
