We were the official travel partners of Festival No. 6 this year. Festival No. 6 is one of the most exciting music events that the UK has to offer, with something for everyone, and this is why we’ve decided to sponsor it for the fourth year running. This festival, hosted in the fairy-tale, Welsh town of Portmeirion, was the perfect backdrop for some of the biggest acts this side of 2017, with Bloc Party, The Flaming Lips, and Mogwai headlining.

Festival No. 6 is an event for the playful adventurers among us. The four-night long extravaganza plays host to luxury camping facilities, wooden walk ways, art installations and genre-defying music across multiple stages. At Virgin Trains, we enjoy our home comforts. That’s why we love this festival - at Festival No. 6 you will feel at home whether you’re a luxury camper or you’re braving it out in a pop-up tent.

This festival caters to all music tastes, from rock & rollers to techno-heads - saving couples, friends and families alike from the age old argument over which festival to attend in the Summer. We partnered up with music bloggers Ayo Adepoju and Tiffany Daniels, over at We Plug Good Music and Drunken Werewolf respectively, to review Festival No.6.

Despite the typical British rain, Ayo and Tiffany’s spirits were certainly not dampened, and they both enjoyed a wide variety of the eclectic acts on offer at the festival. Ayo’s highlights were Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Tim Grennan and Kate Tempest, who all brought a unique stage presence to the event and got the audience dancing.Tiffany particularly enjoyed Bloc party, James Vincent McMorrow and The Flaming Lips, noting that these acts really had what it took to get the crowds to flock to the stage at the 30,000-strong festival.

This is a festival after our own heart - the organisers have put a lot of thought into the catering facilities for their guests.

If you’re already on the look-out for a festival to attend next year, Festival No. 6 truly deserves pride of place on your shortlist. Here at Virgin Trains, we work hard to ensure that your relaxation and party begins from the moment you step on the festival No.6 express, from dancing, facepainting, goody bags and loads more on board entertainment to get you in the party mood.

If you’re looking to explore all the wonderful aspects of Festival No.6, with luxury campers looking for a pamper, to the troopers in tents, this festival has a bit of something special for everyone - just be sure to bring some wellies!
