Ever dreamed about quitting your job and opening a brewery? This Macclesfield-based couple did just that. We love the beers they expertly craft in their HQ. So much in fact, that we asked them to make a special beer just for us. The brew they came up with is a lovely pale ale. It's called Tilting Ale, and it tastes best when served at 125mph on board one of our trains.

Thistly Cross

We love a drop of proper cider. And Thistly Cross farm makes the best one we've ever tasted. We may be biased of course, seeing as it's called Tilting Cider and is brewed especially for us, up in Scotland by two lovely chaps we know. But it really is wonderful. Try it next time you come onboard, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Brew Tea

A good cup of tea, we're sure you'll agree, is very important. We love Brew Tea because they put a lot of thought into blending the perfect cuppa. From rich Assams for breakfast, or light Ceylon for the perfect Earl Grey, they know their way around a tea-leaf better than anyone out there. They are also based near Wigan, which is along our route. Time to put the kettle on.

Denise O'Sullivan Ceramics

We loved playing with soft muddy stuff as kids, but Denise O’Sullivan managed to turn playing with clay into a career, creating beautiful individually crafted ceramic designs using modern methods. We’re super excited to have some bespoke sugar pots direct from her kiln in Stoke-On-Trent sitting pretty in our First Class carriages.

Joe & Seph's Popcorn

As we zoom (practically) past the front doors of the Joe & Seph’s kitchens in Harlesden we couldn’t resist stopping by so we could serve up some of their sweet Salted Caramel goodness in our First Class lounges. Their award winning popcorn gets a big thumbs up from us but if you don’t want to take our word for it, Joe & Seph's have won 24 Great Taste awards. Now that should seal the deal.

Mrs Kirkhams Lancashire Cheese

Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese

For our cheese fix we headed just north of Preston to find Mrs Kirkham’s award-winning raw cow’s milk cheese, made by Graham and his family. It’s still made by hand to the exact same recipe first used by Graham’s mother and grandmother - a real family affair. It’s so tasty we’ve made it a staple onboard for our First Class customers.

The Pudding Compartment

A mere 20 metres from our tracks to Holyhead, we could practically smell the shortbread from The Pudding Compartment. Passionate about their puds, we got the inside scoop of how they put their delicious desserts together. After a few twists thrown in from our very own Chef at HQ, their buttery biscuits can now be found onboard and in our First Class lounges (if there’s any left that is).

Wenlock Spring Water

A small business with award winning water - obviously we wanted in! Thanks to its location close to the famous Wenlock Edge, Wenlock Spring Water is high in calcium - with nothing added and nothing taken away. The natural choice and naturally our choice.
