First Class weekend upgrades

Upgrade to First Class on weekdays

Whether you’re a forward planner or the spontaneous on-the-day type, upgrading to First Class during the week is easy.

Can you upgrade to First Class on the train?

The simplest way to go First is to select a First Class ticket when booking (duh), but if you only decide you deserve a little luxury once you’ve set off, try speaking to your Train Manager. You may be able to pay them the difference between a Standard and First Class fare then and there.

How much does it cost to upgrade to a First Class train ticket?

First Class upgrades can be surprisingly affordable. But they’re even cheaper on weekends and bank holidays. Similar to upgrading Monday to Friday, either book First Class first time around, or chat to your Train Manager when you’re on board. Learn more about weekend upgrades and other special offers here.

Why upgrade to a First Class train ticket?

Train travel should be a fun adventure, whether you’re six or 60.

Travelling First Class often means more legroom, complimentary food and drinks, free WiFi and tables with plug points at every seat.

With your First Class ticket you could also kick back with a complimentary hot drink and more in First Class Lounges before boarding. Just make sure to check opening hours before you head over.

Can I travel First Class with my family?

For bigger broods, you could make First Class a family adventure with special pricing. These fares are usually only available online (the Train Manager can’t help you with this) and are subject to availability. Learn more about weekend upgrades and other special offers here.
