First Class weekend upgrades

How to upgrade to First Class on weekdays

Whether you’re a forward planner or the spontaneous on-the-day type, upgrading to First Class during the week couldn't be easier.

Can you upgrade to First Class on the train?

The simplest way to go First is to select a First Class ticket when booking (duh), but if you only decide you deserve a little luxury once you’ve set off, just speak to your Train Manager. You can pay them the difference between a Standard and First Class fare then and there.

How much does it cost to upgrade to a First Class train ticket?

All our First Class upgrades are surprisingly affordable. But they’re even cheaper on weekends and bank holidays, starting from just £10 each way. Similar to upgrading Monday to Friday, either book First Class first time around, or just chat to your Train Manager when you’re onboard. Read more about weekend upgrades.

Why upgrade to a First Class train ticket?

Train travel should be a fun adventure, whether you’re six or 60.

Travelling First Class with us means more leg room, complimentary food and drinks, free WiFi and tables with plug points at every seat.

Don't forget that with your First Class ticket you can kick back with a complimentary hot drink in our First Class lounges before boarding. Just make sure to check opening hours before you head over. Read more about First Class lounges.

Can I travel First Class with the family?

For bigger broods, you can make First Class a family adventure with Fixed Price family tickets from £130. Remember this fare is only available online (the Train Manager can’t help you with this) and is subject to availability.
