Ways to save
We try to make sure all our fares are as low as possible for you. But to squeeze even more from your pound, here are some epic ways to save.
Thinking ahead can save you some serious pocket money. The further in advance you book, the cheaper your tickets. Our Standard and First Class tickets are released twelve weeks before departure, and that’s when they’re at their cheapest. But even booking the day before is a great way to bag a bargain. It also means your seat is reserved on the train – which makes it a winning strategy all round.
Check out our advance ticket calendar to see when the cheapest tickets are available.
Travel when it's quieter
Travel outside the rush hour and you'll save a bundle. Not to mention getting some extra room to stretch out.
Weekends are entirely off-peak. It's a good idea to check for big events like football matches or festivals, as our trains can get a little more cosy at these times.
Weekdays are usually quietest outside the rush hour(s). Try travelling between 10:30 and 14:30, or after 20:00. You'll find our trains are much quieter, and you'll save money at the same time.
